• Jindal Institute of Power Technology is recognized by Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power as Category-l Institute, as per provisions of Sub Rule 2A of Rule 3 of Indian Electricity Rules 1956 is promoted by Jindal Education and Welfare Society and located at Jindal Power Limited which is a part of US$ 15 billion O.P. Jindal Group
• The uniqueness of Jindal Institute of Power Technology is that it is located inside the 4X250MW+4X600 MW Power Plant thereby the trainees get opportunities in real operations and maintenance training apart from classroom and laboratory instructions
• The Institute possesses a world class Simulator of full scope replica of 250 MW/600 MW Generating Units and state of art infrastructure where trainees are provided online Simulator Training and troubleshooting of Thermal Power Plant
• To develop a pool of technically trained power plant professionals for power utilities of India and abroad

One Year Post Graduate Program in Thermal Power Plant Technology (PGPTPT)
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum 60% marks in class 10th/12th/B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ EEE/Electronics/C&I
Candidates awaiting their final semester engineering results are eligible to apply
Age: Not more than 26 years as on 31st March, 2012
Seats: 120
Fee: Rs 150,000/- (Rs one lakh fifty thousand) payable in two equal installments
Application fee: INR 500

One Year Post Diploma Program in Thermal Power Plant Technology (PDPTPT)
Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum 60% marks in class 10th/Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ C&I
Candidates awaiting their final year diploma results are eligible to apply
Age: Not more than 26 years as on 31st March, 2012
Seats: 60
Fee: Rs 60,000/- (Rs sixty thousand) payable in two equal installments
Application fee: INR 500
Financial assistance in the form of fee concession/scholarship/loan may be considered on Merit-cum- Means basis to financially weaker sections of the society

On-line application:
Students can apply online tab and fill the online application form

Mode of payment of application fee, students can pay INR 500 application fees by IFSC/RTGS funds transfer to Jindal Institute of Power Technology and feed the bank transaction/reference number while applying online

Candidates can download the application form from the website www.jipt.org and send the hard copy of the filled in application form along with demand draft of INR 500 drawn in favor of Jindal Institute of Power Technology payable at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh to the Director, Jindal Institute of Power Technology, C/o Jindal Power Limited, Vill-Tamnar, Dist-Raigarh, Chhattisgarh-496107 by courier service/register post, and must e-mail the scanned copy of demand draft and application form to jipt@jindalpower.com

The candidate must write his/her name on the back side of the demand draft

Selection Criteria:
Candidates will have to appear in JIPT admission test consisting of written examination and personal interview
Allocation of the centre will be based on the response of applicants
Preference will be given to the candidates on the basis of GATE score

Examination Centers:
Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Nagpur, Ranchi, Raipur
Details of examination center and respective dates will be informed to the candidates 1st week of June, 2012 tentatively

Placements:
Placement assistance will be provided in the form of campus interviews by various Power Utilities
80% eligible trainees of current batch have already been placed in various reputed companies
